Shalom Baby is a program which welcomes parents, their babies & toddlers into the Northern New Jersey's Jewish community. First time parents receive a Shalom Baby tote bag filled with gifts and resources from the community. We also offer monthly play groups and special events which help new parents find support and build social connection during this special time in their lives. Shalom Baby is sponsored by Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey.

The reason for my starting this group-I am a stay at home mom with an 11 month old daughter and a 9 year old Chihuahua who is also like my baby.   I have found since my daughter was born last May, I have spent a little less time with my fur baby. So my thought was to create a group where we can meet at a local park with our babies and dogs and go for walks/hikes as well as get to know other Moms with like interests.

The Hudson County Families of Color Meetup Group was started to bring moms, dads, and children of color together to socialize with one another throughout Hudson County, New Jersey. Hudson County can be a very transient place and this meetup group seeks to serve as a social connection for families of color, whether they plan to settle here permanently or are calling Hudson County home only temporarily.

I am a working mother that moved to Scotch Plains about a year ago. I have a two year old and a newborn so weekends have been hectic, but I always have time for a playdate and great conversation!!
